Shear Line is a lockpicking puzzle game. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we, the developer, run no servers: nothing you do in the game is sent to us. The game does show ads, and the ad service it uses collects some data from your device. This policy explains what is collected, why, and how you control it.
Unless you own Remove Ads, the game can show two kinds of ads: short videos you choose to watch for a stated reward (for example, to see every gate of a lock for a few seconds, to put a jammed pin back, to double the loot from a lock, or to keep your Night Shift streak), and an occasional full-screen ad when you leave the result of a lock you opened. A full-screen ad never interrupts a lock you are picking and never follows a failed attempt; a reward video plays only when you tap to watch it. There is no banner.
These ads are provided by Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service run by Unity Technologies, with ads from Unity Ads and ironSource Exchange (both Unity Technologies). The ad software is part of the app, but it sends data directly to Unity, not to us, and Unity handles that data under its own privacy policy.
The ad software does not start until you agree to it, and the game does not ask when it opens. You are asked after you finish your first level (if you leave the question unanswered, after a level in a later session), or when you tap an offer to watch an ad for a reward. The question says who shows the ads (Shear Line, by Noqyris, through Unity LevelPlay), what Unity Technologies (Unity Ads and ironSource Exchange) receives and why, and what declining means. Its two answers, Accept and Decline, look the same.
To change your answer, open Settings → Privacy & ads at any time. If you withdraw consent after ads have started, the game stops showing and loading ads and tells the ad service not to sell or share your personal information. Your answer is not sent to us.
Report an ad: if an ad looks inappropriate or wrong for the game's age rating, tap Settings → Report an ad. It opens your mail app with a pre-written message to subotic.djo@gmail.com, including the game's version; you decide what to send.
If you own Remove Ads, the ad software is not started once the game knows about your purchase on this device, and the optional reward perks are yours without watching anything. After you reinstall the game or move to a new device, tap Restore in the store or in Settings so the game knows again.
Many Unity ads also show a privacy (shield) icon that you can tap to opt out of certain personalised ads. For more on how Unity uses this data and the choices you have, read the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. To make a privacy request about ad data, contact Unity as described in its policy: we don't hold that data.
All purchases are optional: Remove Ads, the Pro Pick Set, the Starter Kit, the Locksmith Bundle, loot packs, the Rescue Kit and the Loot Stash. Purchases are processed by Apple. The app never sees your payment details, name or Apple ID, and we receive no personal information about you from a purchase. What you own is remembered on your device, and Restore (in the store and in Settings) asks Apple to re-apply your one-time purchases, for example after you reinstall. Loot you buy is stored on your device and never expires, but like the rest of your progress it is lost if you delete the app.
Shear Line can send at most one reminder a day, for example when tonight's Night Shift lock is ready or your streak is about to end. The game only asks iOS for permission after you tap to turn reminders on, and nothing is sent unless you allow notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS; nothing is sent to us or to a push server. To pick a good time, the game remembers on your device the hours at which you usually play. You can turn reminders off at any time in the game's Settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Shear Line.
The game saves the following only on your device, in the app's own storage:
None of it is sent to us, and all of it is removed if you delete the app.
The game itself plays fully offline. It uses the network only to load ads (after you have given consent) and for purchases and restores through Apple.
Shear Line is a general-audience game. It is not directed at children under 13, and it tells the ad software that it is not a child-directed app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's information has been collected through the ads in this game, contact us at the address below.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
